What Drives Us

Our Story

My passion for animals and journey of wanting to help them started at a very young age, and I have always wanted to help them in some way. Growing up I always have taken in strays, and my family had both cats and dogs all my life.  I cannot describe the love and soothing feeling I get from being around animals, it’s almost like it feeds my soul and gives me serenity.

Throughout the years I have volunteered with rescues and animal shelters by being a foster, walking dogs and being a liaison for senior dogs to help create more exposure for them to help assist them in finding their fur-ever home.

My family and I wanted to launch Sierra’s Canine Sanctuary in memory of our sweet, loyal and loving Golden Retriever Sierra, whom we loved dearly and miss so much.  She touched many lives with her presence and although she is physically gone she will never be forgotten and her legacy will live on to help other dogs.

We intend to take in seniors, behavior challenged and the scared dogs.  Dogs that may need some extra TLC and help them to find their fur-ever home.  It is with great pleasure and after a childhood dream that I am finally able to launch:
